How pro-Buhari protesters stormed Unity Fountain, smoking in public (photos)


- Two different protesters were at the Unity Fountain in Abuja on Friday, August 11

On Friday, August 11, about eight buses drove to the road by the Unity Fountain in Abuja, Nigeria's capital city.

These buses had in them many Nigerians - mostly young people who all charged towards the famous Unity Fountain chanting Sai Buhari! Sai Buhari!! Just immediately the individuals in their scores also joined a group protesting against corruption in Nigeria.

The group's protest organized by the Centre for Civil Society and Justice (CCSJ) had earlier taken over the Unity Fountain yesterday in a counter protest against another group led by musician and television presenter Charles 'Charly Boy' Oputa.


Immediately, the youngsters arrived in their buses, they joined and were also welcomed by members of the pro-Buhari group already singing at the Unity Fountain.

They sang and charged towards the Charly Boy-led group chanting loudly and enthusiastically: Sai Buhari! Sai Buhari!!

Fortunately, the police officers present quickened to action, they formed a barricade between the pro-Buhari group and the anti-Buhari protesters standing at the East-wing of the Unity Fountain.

At this time, the anti-Buhari group numbering about 10, with their leaders, Charly Boy and Deji Adeyanju the director of the Concerned Nigerians group drove out of the Unity Fountain in a convoy of three vehicles under intense booing by the pro-Buhari group
