to beat Getafe and move to the top of La Liga standings

- Barcelona have now made it four wins out of four in the La Liga this season
Barcelona
perfect start in the La Liga continued after a hard fought 2-1 victory
over Getafe on a day the Spanish giant almost failed to come to the
party.
Ernesto Valverde’s men went behind in the first half by a thunderbolt from the boot of Japanese midfilder Gaku Shibasaki.
Shibaski’s
strike came in the 39th minute after teammate Damian Suarez played a
ball onto the edge of the box for Markel Bergara, who held off Gerard
Pique to set him up.
The Japanese midfielder left-footed shot full on the volley gave no chance for Marc-Andre ter Stegen in goal for Barcelona.
However,
Barcelona responded with fine strike from substitute Denis Suarez in
the 62nd minute after great play from Sergi Roberto.
Roberto
shows great tenacity down the right before cutting the ball back into
the box for Suarez who came on at the start of the second half for
Andres Iniesta.
The sub takes a touch and clips a lovely finish high into the net past the Getafe goalkeeper.
Another substitute on the night Paulinho secured all three points for Barca in the 84th minute.
The
midfielder latched on to Lionel Messi's pass, surged forward and held
off a challenge from Djene, before smashing home a superb finish across
Vicente Guaita and into the far corner of the
net.
However,
it was not all good for Barcelona as summer signing Ousmane Dembele was
withdrawn early on in the game with a suspected hamstring injury.
Table toppers Barcelona have now won four games out of four in the Spanish La Liga.
